Workshop: Namibia – Where the Nature Dreams

Day 1
Arrival at Windhoek Airport
You are booked for one night at Galton House on a bed and breakfast basis.
Galton House is Windhoek’s newest accommodation establishment. Named after the famous explorer Sir
Francis Galton, it has a relaxed but efficient style which creates a very welcoming atmosphere.
Impressive wildlife photography adorns the walls whilst the rest of the interior is a combination of modern
minimalistic and understated chic.

Day 2
After breakfast Wilderness Safaris will transfer you to Eros Airport in time for your light aircraft charter
flight to Luderitz. At Luderitz Airport you will be met and transferred to the Nest Hotel.

Day3
Morning tour of Kolmanskop. Afternoon tour of Luderitz and Diaz Point.

Day 4
Morning tour of Kolmanskop.
After your tour of Kolmanskop, you will transfer to Luderitz Airport for your charter flight to Sossousvlei

Day 5-8
For four nights at Little Kulala Desert Camp, on a fully inclusive basis.
Little Kulala Desert Camp is situated 20 km’s from Sesriem, the Park’s entrance to the Sossousvlei
dunes. Towering dunes rise dramatically, more than 1000 ft above the surrounding plains. The camp’s
location provides direct private access to Sossousvlei, yet also offers privacy and exclusivity.
The lodge comprises 19 thatched and canvas “kulalas” (“to sleep” in Oshiwambo) with en-suite
bathrooms and verandas. Each unit is built on a wooden platform to catch the cooling breezes and has a
deck on the flat rooftop where bedrolls are placed for guests to sleep under the myriad stars that
Namibia’s clear skies portray. The main area, with décor inspired by northern Africa, has a lounge, bar,
dining area, plunge pool and wrap-around veranda overlooking the waterhole – a perfect location to view and photograph the desert vista. The overall setting is a true delight to the senses, bringing together the
rhythm of Namibia, wholesome meals and intimacy.
A waterhole in front of camp attracts a number of local wildlife (such as gemsbok, springbok, ostrich and
jackal) and provides a perfect location to view and photograph the desert scenery.

Day 9-11
Your transfer by light aircraft charter flight will depart Little Kulala at 11h00, and take you to Serra
Cafema on the Skeleton Coast. There is one stop en route for re-fuelling, and the journey will take
approximately 3 hours. For three nights at Serra Cafema
Serra Cafema is located in the extreme north-west of Namibia on the banks of the Kunene River in the
Hartmann Valley. Undoubtedly amongst the most remote camps in Southern Africa, Serra Cafema is only
reachable by a three hour light aircraft trip.
Accommodation at Serra Cafema consists of 8 riverside Meru-style canvas and thatched villas on
spacious, elevated decks blended smoothly into the picturesque surroundings. Each fully furnished tent
has an en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan and mosquito nets. A late afternoon spent lounging on the front
deck soaking up the breathtaking vistas of this contrasting wilderness is an absolute must.
The Serra Cafema Ozonganda, or main area, comprises indoor and outdoor dining areas, sunken lounge,
library, curio shop and swimming pool, all sharing views of the Kunene River.
Activities at Serra Cafema revolve around the exploration of surrounding Namib Desert sands and the
lush oases along the river, a journey of contrasts. Informative nature drives and carefully guided quad
bike excursions through the fragile dunes allow guests to experience the true Namib in its unbridled glory.
The utmost care is taken to tread lightly on the dunes and preserve the unique and delicate habitats of
this landscape. Boating on the Kunene River provides guests with the opportunity to venture through the
lush riverside oases. Crocodiles and water birds seem out of place in this surreal, lunar-like landscape.
Walking in the remote mountain and river valleys is also a highlight, as is a visit to a Himba settlement –
one of the last true nomadic people in Africa.

Day 12
Your transfer by light aircraft charter flight will leave Serra Cafema airstrip at 14h00, for Windhoek,
stopping en route for re-fuelling.

Day13
Depart Windhoek Airport
